Lakeside Fertilizer is southern Alberta's largest independent retailer of fertilizer and ag-chemicals.  Lakeside is a division of Lakeside Feeders Ltd., which is owned by IBP Inc. of South Dakota.

Lakeside began operations in Brooks in 1969 in conjunction with a feed processing business.  In 1987, Lakeside Fertilizer acquired plants in Vauxhall, Claresholm, and Bow Island.  In 1994, Lakeside acquired the Medicine Hat facility and added the Taber facility in 1995.  Each location features a fertilizer plant plus a full-service agricultural supply retail outlet.  All of these plants are registered with the Fertilizer Quality Assurance Program which is monitored by Agriculture Canada.

In addition, each location markets seed for various suppliers and offers custom seeding services.
